About Us

Care For People began providing non-medical, in-home care throughout Pennsylvania in 1990. Richard and JoAnn Knupp started the business in Bellefonte, PA, after realizing the need for affordable in-home care within their own lives. The agency has since built a reputation for integrity and reliability and continues to expand, currently serving ten counties within Pennsylvania.

In 1999 Care for People extended its services as Care for People Plus to assist individuals with disabilities. Through a contract with Pennsylvania county Mental Health/Mental Retardation (MH/MR) programs, Care For People Plus provides MH/MR supports coordinators with reliable caregivers suited to their consumer’s needs. Founded on the growing need for affordable non-medical companion care, Care For People Plus has grown and become a dependable source of respite, rehabilitation and companion care throughout Pennsylvania.
