Care for People Plus works with supports coordinators in Pennsylvania county Mental Health/Mental Retardation (MH/MR) offices to provide reliable, trustworthy caregivers to their consumers. Through working with each client’s individual plan of care, our caregivers assist clients and their families to achieve their goals. Our caregivers provide non-medical habilitation, respite and companion services. Ultimately, we hope to assist MH/MR consumers in reaching their full potential. Care For People Plus services include:

Respite: Temporary relief for families caring for individuals with disabilities, includes hourly, 24 hour and extended care in and outside the home
Habilitation: Assistance in learning and maintaining basic life and social skills related to personal care, vocation, chores and community engagement
Companion: Care provided through accompanying an individual at-home or within a social setting

Q: What is Care For People Plus?

A: Care for People Plus is a subsidiary of associated Care Groups, Inc. and is contracted with Pennsylvania county Mental Health/Mental Retardation (MH/MR) offices to provide caregivers for individuals participating in waiver programs

Q: How do I know that caregiver provided by Care for People Plus is qualified and reliable?

A: The needs of the each MH/MR consumer are thoroughly assessed in order to find a suitable caregiver. All caregivers are screened and provided with mandated education. In addition many are CNAs and HHAs.

Q: How are Care For People Plus Services Utilized?

A. MH/MR supports coordinators work with Care For People Plus county managers, consumers and their families to determine the necessary hours and services. County mangers then find a suitable caregiver for the consumer.

Q: How do Care For People Plus and caregivers earn their fee?

A: The Pennsylvania State Department of Welfare determines a fixed rate for each service provided to a MH/MR consumer through Care For People Plus. This is of no cost to the consumer. Caregivers receive a pre-determined portion of this payment.
